NobleKing Midget 2 Falters Just Short of the Finals

NobleKing Midget 2 took Lefroy 1 to the wall, forcing a tie-breaking sixth game after losing games 1 and 2 of the series. A tie in game 3, followed by a pair of wins to tie the series after five games gave NobleKing hope that they could upset the first place team in round two of the playoffs.

However, with a short bench and little left in the tank, The Knights could not pull another clutch win out of the bag. They did however play an excellent series, and showed heart in getting to the brink of making the finals.

Round 2, Game 3 - 1-1 Tie!!

NobleKing Midget 2 clung to life in round two with a tie in game 3. The Knights owned the overtime period, but couldn't slip one past the Lefroy netminder. The final score was a 1-1 tie. This leaves Lefroy leading the series 5-1 (in points). This means the Knights can't afford a loss or tie - they must win games 4 and 5 to force a game 6 tiebreaker.

Round 2, Game 2 - 3-2 Loss

Despite enormous pressure in the closing minute, the Knights couldn't tie the score. The final score was 3-2, and the loss left NobleKing trailing 2-0 in the series.

Tough Start to Round Two

NobleKing Midget 2 took a short bench into game 1 of round 2. They were facing Lefroy, first place in the regular season.

NobleKing held out against the Lefroy onslaught for some time, and had some chances of their own. But Lefroy is a very strong team, and played disciplined hockey. The Knights did not play well positionally, and had some penalty trouble. Neither helped them against Lefroy, and the team took a beating. NobleKing will have to play a much stronger second game if they hope to have an extended series.
